We’re committed to Recovery and Rehabilitation

The pride of Boro Park Center is our reputation for amazing physical, occupational and speech therapy. Helping our short term residents return to full independence sooner and more completely drives this team to excellence. And keeping our residents physically fit promotes a longer, healthier, happier life. We offer therapy seven days a week in a state of the art facility where our team of professionals employ the latest techniques and equipment to achieve startling results. And each participant works one on one with their therapist during each session. Every patient has a custom plan developed just for them. That plan considers your doctor’s instructions, your pre-surgical condition or physical abilities when you arrive, your post-surgical condition, individual goals, tolerance for discomfort during therapy, personal attitude and more. The rewards of therapy, even when it’s difficult, are priceless, and we make every effort to see that therapy sessions are productive yet enjoyable. At Boro Park we “work the whole patient”. We do more than the focused rehabilitation prescribed by your doctor. We work with each patient to improve muscle tone and strength, joint mobility, posture, cardio-vascular and pulmonary function, mobility and pain relief. And we make sure that our patients regain as many of the skills they’ll need for independent living as possible.

We never lose sight of the fact that this facility is the home of nearly 500 people, little different from a mid-sized apartment building.

And we do our part to make everyone’s life as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Both short and long-term residents enjoy all of this, and more:

An enclosed courtyard juts off our main physical therapy area.

Therapeutic recreation is both enjoyable and engaging. Developed in a collaboration of our therapy and recreation teams, it furthers physical and occupational therapy and makes it a fun part of daily life here.

Courtesy transportation is provided by our own fleet of custom vans, to take residents to outside medical appointments, outings, and even to pick up family members who need a ride to come and visit a resident.

Discreet security system that ensures that the building is safe from unauthorized entry. It also protects those residents who need careful monitoring from finding themselves in an unfamiliar area of the building, or off the grounds.

And of course we provide toiletries and bath amenities, the services of a beautician and barber, complimentary laundry service, wi-fi and individual cable television for each resident, and complimentary newspapers.

Take care of the spirit and all the rest will come

Largely because we in the Jewish community prefer to keep our elderly and infirm at home to be cared for by family, options for skilled nursing facilities are limited. With that in mind, Centers Health Care built the Boro Park Center. Beginning with a magnificent Shul with daily Shiurim led by our spiritual leader Rabbi Wasjfeld, everything we do here is designed to make our orthodox Jewish residents feel at home, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Glatt Kosher cuisine with Chassidishe Shechita under the Hashgacha of Rabbi Friedlander is food for the body and the soul and dinner guests are always welcome.

At Boro Park, you’re invited to join our unique program designed to keep families connected by blending the comfort and warmth of the heimishe home with round the clock health care services. Our Shvil Hazahav program is changing the way we look at caring for our loved ones. Here residents enjoy a lifestyle experience steeped in Jewish culture and traditions with family activities, Shabbos Oneg, kosher cuisine, three minyanim daily and we have staff that speak English, Hebrew, Yiddish and Russian.

Heimishe meals and recreation are only part of the cultural immersion here at Boro Park Center. Panim Yaffot Salon comes every Thursday to do Shaitels, make-up L’Kkvod Shabbos, hair, manicures and more. We have more 30 years of collective experience on our social work team to help smooth the transition to your new home, and a wonderful group of residents that will soon become fast friends.

huan ying, zhe shi ni de xin jia, women hen kaixin ni lai (In English, Welcome, this is your new home, we are really happy you've come.)

Service to our community is one of our guiding principles. So when we began to see an increasing number of our Chinese neighbors choosing the Boro Park Center as their new home, or to complete their rehabilitation, we knew we needed to do more than provide the best skilled nursing and rehabilitation in New York. We needed to provide a home that was reflective of this beautiful culture. We began by adding staff fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Toishanese and making sensitive room assignments to our Asian residents. And all of that grew into the Asian Community at Boro Park Center, a totally renovated facility housing a vibrant, culturally aware community.

The 8th and 9th floors in our facility have been totally renovated and decorated using the colors, patterns, textures and artwork representative of the Asian community. Our medical, nursing and therapy staff includes a large number of Asian professionals from our own neighborhood, who speak the language and appreciate the customs. Our food is so authentic that there are many who claim the best Chinese food in Brooklyn is prepared right here at the Boro Park Center. And our Asian-focused recreation team does everything from organizing traditional games and making sure that Chinese TV broadcasts and newspapers are available to all, to staging elaborate Chinese New Year parties with friends and family joining in as traditional lion dancers usher in the new year. If you’re looking for a home where you will receive the care and attention you need round the clock, without giving up your cultural way of life, then we’d like to welcome you to the Asian Community at Boro Park. Huan Ying.
