Meir is a talented Director who actively sought out his assignment to Bushwick Center. “I want to be in a place where I can know everyone by more than just their names. I want to get to know my residents the way I know my friends.” That was exactly the sort of administrator we were looking for, and we know we found the perfect match. Just ask any resident here and they’ll tell you that since his very first day, Meir is always around, always stopping to talk with them, always asking how they are and if there’s anything he can do for them. With people like Meir, it’s no wonder Bushwick Center is a Medicare.gov 5-star home.
Each and every resident at Bushwick Center is a beneficiary of Lydia’s sincerity and depth of knowledge. Her expertise and unwavering dedication to excellence in care is paramount and she has a remarkable nursing team, all committed to providing the highest quality care to every resident. “I embrace every opportunity to improve the quality of life of our residents. It’s my passion, and it’s a passion that is shared by everyone on our team”, she says. No wonder Bushwick is consistently rated a five-star facility by Medicare.gov.
Elizabeth is one of the first friends our new residents make when they arrive at the Bushwick Center. A graduate of Fordham University, Elizabeth knew at a very young age that she wanted to pursue a meaningful career in Social Work. Shortly thereafter, she found the perfect place to fulfill that dream at Bushwick Center. A qualified social work professional, Elizabeth provides support and counseling to our residents and their families and the world of Bushwick Center always looks brighter behind Elizabeth’s infectious smile.
Sometimes you just find the perfect fit that checks off every box. And when you do, it’s a special thing. That what happened when we found Erica; we knew we found the perfect fit for our Director of Rehab here at Bushwick. She holds a Master’s Degree from Ithaca College in Occupational Therapy, specialized in geriatrics, and wrote her thesis on the use of technology among the elder population and the barriers to using technology in rehabilitation. So clearly she “checked off” the education box. She took her passion for the elderly and while at school she started Project Generations to link college students with the elderly in the community surrounding the school. It must have been a good idea, because years later the club she founded is still going strong. So we checked off the “dedicated to elderly” and “community involvement” boxes. A competitive swimmer, she is trained as a host of holistic therapies, including aquatic and craniosacral therapy modalities, and she has worked at several skilled nursing facilites, so that checked off the experience box. At home, she cares for her pet – a blind cat – and that showed us that she is truly a caregiver at heart. Her well-earned reputation as an outstanding therapist and a terrific team leader was evident from the start. And to top it off, Erica is one of the nicest, happiest, people you’ll ever meet. The kind of person that brings sunshine into any room she enters. And that’s what makes her the perfect fit.
