Corning Center Memorial Day Vets

Memorial Day brought out the best of Corning Center residents as they visited the Crystal City VFW Post 524 on Baker Street in Corning. In the morning, residents and staff placed pinwheels around the flag in honor of those veterans we lost this past year. The residents saluted the brave VFW personnel and were saluted back. “It was an incredible moving ceremony,” said Megan Wright, Recreation Director at Corning Center who accompanied the residents. “Many of our residents are veterans of course so this meant so much to them.” In the afternoon, the residents returned to Corning Center where they enjoyed a snack cart and the kitchen provided a picnic style lunch.
