Veterans Honored at Northern Metropolitan
Northern Metropolitan on Maple Avenue in Monsey and Northern Riverview on Route 9W in Haverstraw honored their veterans on November 11, both with very moving ceremonies. Northern Metropolitan gave certificates of appreciation to their veterans and treated them to a beautiful hardy lunch. Twelve miles east at Northern Riverview in Haverstraw, the facility recognized both their resident and staff veterans. Joining in the celebration were David Levin and Alfred Zeilberger, both from the Jewish War Veterans of the USA. Their own personal experiences in the military were shared and they gave each Northern Riverview veteran a memorable cap with the colors of the American flag. Additionally, Lori Silverstein, Recreation Director, had her staff recognize Director of Food Services, Matt Croussouloudis, who currently volunteers for the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.
