Essex Center’s Employee of the Month
Essex Center on Park Street in Elizabethtown, New York has named Jim Ohlsten as the December 2021 Employee of the Month. Mr. Ohlsten was ecstatic when he heard the news. Jim was born in North Tarrytown, New York. Jim has a sister and brother plus his wife Lynn and their two teenage kids. He has been a physical therapist assistant for 24 years and he has worked in sub-acute, home healthcare, and with pre-school children. Jim has worked for Essex Center for over 16 months. His peers nominated Jim because he’s always willing to help everyone. His motto is, "Let’s make the job easier”, and along with his main responsibilities, Jim has been seen passing trays, making beds, helps transport people, helps with exercise classes, and always goes above and beyond for residents as well as his fellow staff. So congratulations Jim on a job well done!

Centers Health Care provides rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term care for people with a wide range of needs. Whether someone is recovering from surgery, managing an illness or simply needs more support than can be provided at home, our staff is there to help.
The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.
