Full Staff Vaccination at Three NYC Centers

The Centers Health Care family of skilled nursing facilities is proud to say that staff at Bronx-based Hope Center on University Avenue, University Center on Grand Avenue and Queens-based Far Rockaway Center on Virginia Street in the Rockaways, are 100 percent vaccinated from the COVID-19 virus. With many months of encouraging, re-encouraging and re-educating staff personnel that were once hesitant about receiving the vaccine, hold out staff felt that for the safety of their residents, as well as their colleagues and themselves, receiving the COVID-19 vaccine was the right thing to do.

In addition to their full-time and part-time staff, the facilities continue to also employ fully vaccinated agency workers, re-emphasizing that the residents are their top priority in the fight against the virus. These high percentages were released in the October 7 report from the New York State Department of Health listing of nursing homes staff vaccination listing, an every-two day updated listing of nursing homes throughout New York State, the latest being the October 13 listing by the State DOH. Centers Health Care’s Far Rockaway Center in Queens is also at 100 percent, as it has other staff fully vaccinated New York State locations in Warren County and Washington County in the Adirondacks and Ontario County in the Rochester area.

Care. Support. Positive Outcomes. Centers Health Care.
Centers Health Care provides rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term care for people with a wide range of needs. Whether someone is recovering from surgery, managing an illness or simply needs more support than can be provided at home, our staff is there to help.
The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.
Our Steps to Home series follows patients through rehabilitation and the journey from hospital to home:
