4 Healthy Breakfast Habits for Weight Loss

Getting off to a good start during breakfast is of utmost importance when you’re trying to lose weight. Checking the right boxes at breakfast time leaves you feeling good heading into the rest of the day. Splurging, on the other hand, can set you behind in your goals, which can discourage you as the day goes on.

In order to help, Center’s Health Care has four healthy breakfast habits you should employ if you’re trying to lose weight.

  1. Eat Protein

A protein-packed breakfast will leave you feeling full so you don’t snack before lunch. And protein can be consumed in other forms besides breakfast meats, which can be high in fat and sodium. Eggs, yogurt, and turkey sausage are great forms of protein, and alternatively, you could always add some protein powder to coffee or a shake.

  1. Stay Hydrated

Keeping your body hydrated can also help ward off cravings to devour a mid-morning snack. Starting off the day with a glass of water before you even make your coffee will also get your digestive system working.

  1. Watch the Sugar

This is especially for those who like to get their coffee on the go. Beware of added sugar in your favorite order! If you’re looking for flavor without the sugar or calories, try a natural spice like cinnamon, pumpkin spice, or even cocoa powder.

  1. Eat Something!

You might think that skipping breakfast can allow you to eat more the rest of the day, but your body doesn’t work that way. Experts say that not eating anything for breakfast slows down your metabolism, so you will not only burn fewer calories, but your body will start to accumulate fat instead of burning it if it’s not receiving any fuel.
