“Care That Moves You” Day at Slate Valley
Residents and staff at Slate Valley Center in Granville, New York, had a great time on August 2 during “Care That Moves You” day. This is the day when the act of “moving” is key to fighting loneliness and isolation, a concern that all nursing homes face every day throughout the country. At Slate Valley Center, both activities and rehabilitation play a key role in moving, and that is what both therapy and recreation stepped up to do and did successfully. In honor of this day, pet therapy also took place, and the Granville Family Diner had a special lunch for the facility. Finally, Certified Nursing Assistant Alyssa Clemons was the winner of the "Get Moving Gift Basket". The facility would also like to thank Gemini Fitness in Granville for their donation of one month’s free membership at the local gym.
