Free Backpacks and Ice Cream at School Fair
On August 31, North Central Bronx Hospital on Kossuth Avenue held its annual Back to School Fair for the youngsters in the neighborhood, and this year the folks from Centers Health Care came to lend a hand by giving out black backpacks filled with pencils, pens, erasers, pen holders, colored pencils, and a notebook. That’s not all. Centers Health Care also treated the kids, families, and hospital staff to a free Mr. Softee Ice Cream Truck, so nearly 1,000 residents from the neighborhood made a day of the back-to-school outing and enjoyed it with tasty ice cream on this summer day.
