Centers Urgent Care celebrates official opening of Forest Hills location

Centers Urgent Care celebrated the official opening of its Forest Hills facility on Wednesday, July 12.

Located at 64-02 108th St., the center aims to fill the area’s gap in health care services with its experiences staff of nurses and physicians. The site will be able to help with anything from illnesses and vaccines to trauma care and X-Rays.

\"COVID opened up our eyes that there’s an additional need to different communities, whether it’s underserved communities or people who are over-utilizing emergency rooms or sometimes they just don’t have primary care,\" said Centers Urgent Care COO David Singer. \"Our goal at Centers Urgent Care is really to identify the communities that have a gap in their medical needs, and that’s why we came here.\"

The planning for the Forest Hills location has been in the works for about a year. Singer shared that after speaking with the community, they felt this was the perfect area to fill the healthcare divide.

\"People don’t have access to transportation, it’s a neighborhood with all walks of life, including those who are low-income. If anything holds them back from getting the services they need, then they’re more likely not to get what they need and that ultimately translates in poor health and most likely ER or hospitalization,\" Singer told QNS.

The center has been open for about a month, but to officially mark the occasion, they organized a community event on July 12 that featured complimentary Italian Ices, giveaways and the opportunity for the community to meet staff members.

This is the company’s 11th urgent care center and its third location in Queens. The Forest Hill site will be open 365 days a year from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Singer expressed his excitement in becoming part of the Forest Hills community and gaining the trust of the neighborhood residents.

\"Having to go to the ER and looking at your bills after or having to spend six hours getting the same service you could within minutes, it’s a game changer,\" he said.
