On September 29, 2021, Slate Valley Center on State Route 40 observed National VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Day and they invited a special guest to talk to the Vets at the Center, Butch Hurlburt, Commander of VFW Post 1653 located on North Street in Granville.
