Delmar Center gets a beautiful visit from a Pony

On April 12, 2022, residents at Delmar Center, the 120-bed skilled nursing facility, got a very pleasant visit from “Frost”, a nine-year-old Shetland pony who was dressed as an Easter Bunny pony. Frost was brought to Delmar Center by Linda Cole, a horse handler who runs Kasey Cast-a-Ways, an animal farm located in Port Jervis, New York. Ms. Cole has been bringing ponies and other farm animals to various Centers Health Care nursing homes for nearly five years, and since COVID-19 began, she has only been able to bring animals to the windows of the residents or outside onto the front porch or patio. Cole says what drives her to do this is the sheer happiness and laughter she receives from the residents when they come into contact with the animals. Although the residents love Linda’s sheep and bunnies, they always want the ponies. Hopefully, soon enough, Ms. Cole will be able to once again tour the skilled nursing facilities.
