On August 23, Slate Valley Center in Granville, NY, welcomed the music and storytelling of Judy Rosenbrook, also known as "Gramma Rose", to their 88-bed skilled nursing facility. Gramma Rose, who is from Fort Edward, NY, loves interacting with everyone, especially seniors and kids, and always shares her laid-back country and bluegrass music with all kinds of storytelling. Ms. Rosenbrook has been a retired nurse and professional entertainer for over forty years, and she has developed Gramma Rose as a nurturing character to provide an educational, interactive, and fun environment for learning life’s lessons. Focusing on helping children build their self-esteem through the use of songs and story time by discussing the concepts of happiness, fulfillment, and the Golden Rule.

There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
