Jody Barnett, Employee of the Month
A highly well-deserved congratulations goes out to Ms. Jody Barnett, as the Human Resources Director at Steuben Center in Bath was unanimously named the facility’s August 2023 Employee of the Month. The certificate was given by Administrator Cheryll East, but so many of Jody’s colleagues were there right outside of her office when the official announcement was made, and the certificate was given to Ms. Barnett, along with streamers and cheers. Throughout the facility, Jody Barnett is known as the one who can always be counted upon in every department, as she is always available to lend a hand. When asked what motivates her every day to be the exemplary person she is, Ms. Barnett says that she does it all for the goodness and well-being of the residents and the valuable, hard-working staff at the 105-bed nursing facility. Jody is from Hornell, New York.

The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.
