Maypole Dance at Warren Center
As the month of May rolled in, residents and staff at Warren Center in Queensbury, welcomed in one of the most pleasant months of the year by having a Maypole Dance. Both staff and residents created a flower arrangement, cut beautiful ribbons, created a Maypole and ultimately danced around it. Following the celebration, the Recreation Team, led by Holly Desnoyers, showed an educational presentation on the history of the Maypole Dance and the residents learned how this dance is done in different countries, a custom that goes back to Medieval times.
