Northern Metropolitan’s 5-Star Recognition
For the second year in a row, Northern Metropolitan on Maple Avenue in Monsey, New York, has been certified as a five-star facility. This 2023 official recognition by Medicare.gov, which is a federal government website managed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), falls under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and it is how all skilled nursing facilities are measured.
Northern Metropolitan is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility and is only one of very few skilled nursing homes throughout the Hudson Valley that has gained a solid four-star rating under staffing, a major accomplishment in itself due to New York State’s strict healthcare staffing guidelines. The facility is proud that the total number of nurse staffing hours per resident per day is four hours and five minutes, while the national average is three hours and forty-five minutes and the state at three hours and thirty-one minutes.
