Patricia Holland: A True Example of Rehabilitation Success at Hammonton Center

Hammonton Center 61-year-old resident Patricia “Pat” Holland, a lover of entertainment, applying makeup, and dressing up, has been making great strides in rehabilitation to improve her life at the 240-bed skilled nursing facility in Hammonton, New Jersey. As a patient with numerous respiratory issues including shortness of breath, Pat has been working with therapy in all three disciplines including physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy. Where she once needed a tracheostomy tube, now no more, and it can be easily seen in her speech and swallowing. Her physical therapy team has been working continuously with Pat on her bed mobility and that has also increased beautifully. Where she once required total dependence on her Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks, now that has also increased positively where she only requires set-up of her upper body and some assistance with her lower body.

Together with Pat’s positive attitude and the therapy team’s diligent work ethic, Pat is a true example of someone taking advantage in order to have a new look at life.
