Slate Valley’s Valentine’s Day Preparations

Getting ready for Valentine’s Day, Slate Valley Center residents in Granville, New York, started thinking outside of the chocolate box and started being creative by making “fuzzy hearts” on February 1st. What are fuzzy hearts? According to Recreation Director Andrea Kelley, in a heart-shaped mold, baking soda is added to food-colored vinegar to make the hearts fizz, and they take on a psychedelic, colorful look.
