At Slate Valley Center on State Route 40 in Granville, one of the most popular and enjoyable projects the residents get involved in is the creation of Dream Boards, according to the organization.
This is a positive arts and crafts project in which the residents use images and pictures to truly demonstrate who they are and show what they love in their lives, anything from family get-togethers, summertime BBQs and their favorite vacation destinations.
Additionally, these boards demonstrate their dreams and desires, designed to display various inspirations and motivations.
“Our residents really get into doing these dream boards,” said Recreation Director Bailey Greenough. “We do so much in the way of arts and crafts, but this project is so different because it becomes so personal. You can see some of the residents get teary eyed while doing this because of their fondest memories they have. These emotions they have make us teary-eyed, as well.”
Slate Valley Center does the dream boards project every so often and Greenough said she doesn’t want to overdo it so the popularity and interest stays strong with the residents.
