Spotlight on Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Ms. Debra Conroy for National Rehabilitation Awareness Week
For National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (Sept 18–24), Luxor Nursing and Rehab at Sayville on Broadway Avenue is spotlighting Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Ms. Debra Conroy, a member of SIGMA Health Rehab & Centers Health Care. As a COTA, Ms. Conroy has been in practice for ten years and, according to the facility’s Director of Rehabilitation, Kristin Calder, is a vital part of the team that gives 100 percent to each of her residents. Ms. Conroy goes above and beyond to maintain department morale and comradery. The residents, patients, and fellow therapists agree that if you ask anyone, they would tell you that Debra is a great therapist and she puts her heart into everything she does.
\"Here at Luxor at Sayville, we are very lucky to have Deb part of the team,\" says Calder.
Ms. Calder goes on to say that Ms. Conroy is also highly dependable and always a team player who is willing to help out when someone calls out sick. Debra is also taking the lead in organizing monthly staff birthday celebrations and actually making each therapist’s favorite homemade goodies for their birthday. As part of these celebrations, Ms. Conroy takes the lead in getting gifts if someone is having a baby, has a loss in the family, or is getting married. Debra Conroy comes to Luxor at Sayville every day from her home in East Islip.
