Staff and Residents Enjoy Nursing Home Week at Oak Hill Center
Last month from May 9 to May 15, nursing home staff throughout the country observed National Nursing Home Week with all kinds raffles, contests, lunches, and many activities involving the residents at the facilities. At Oak Hill Center, the 129-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility on Pleasant Street in Pawtucket, DeLaina Richard, Recreation Director, had a goal and that was for her fellow colleagues to get together and enjoy conversations over a staff-wide lunch, perhaps involving the residents and have fun with trivia and prizes. She did just that and it went off perfectly.
The staff enjoyed a coffee cart and breakfast provided by Administrator John Fredette, Assistant Director of Nursing Deanna Paul, Social Worker Tara Geraghty and Sub Acute Unit Manager Debra Newton!! Additionally, Optum, a leading information and technology-enabled health services business, provided lunch to all staff from Panera Bread. Later in the week, there was trivia with prizes, lunch and dinner, and an ice cream sundae cart. Parent company Centers Health Care provided comfortable robes for all the staff.
