Steuben Center Honors Dee Conrad
For National Rehabilitation Awareness Week (Sept 17–23) this year, Steuben Center in Bath is recognizing one of its stars, Therapy Technician Deidra (Dee) Conrad. Dee has been with the facility for a whopping 38 years, starting in 1985. She is incredibly well-loved throughout the 105-bed skilled nursing facility in Bath, New York, and is responsible for multiple duties, completing all of them with grace and ease. Dee also doubles as a CNA and uses her CNA status on a daily basis. When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Dee answers, "My residents, that’s easy. I enjoy making their days a little brighter and helping get them to their fullest potential.”

The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.
