Brain Enhancement Program at Triboro
Leadership at the 405-bed nursing and rehabilitation Triboro Center on Teller Avenue have started a new activities program in order to sharpen eye and hand coordination among its residents. The program is being called “Triboro Center Brain Enhancement Activities” is not only geared towards those with early dementia and Alzheimer’s, but also those who have suffered a stroke, falls and/or other brain degenerative diseases and injuries. The “Triboro Center Brain Enhancement Activities” program includes a toy shooting game that is great for distance aiming, small table ping pong, group dominoes as well as drawing and painting.
“Recreation and rehab carefully monitors the progression of the residents who are taking part,” said Rose Ferreira, Recreation Director. “Scores are kept in some of the activities, but will all of these, we not only monitor the residents, but we cheer them on. It’s really wonderful.”
There’s no ending for this program and we will be doing these activities and changing them up in the months to come.
