At Centers Health Care, we are fortunate to have many extraordinary individuals who dedicate their lives to providing compassionate care throughout our 45 facilities. One of these remarkable people is Pamela Joseph, a certified nurse assistant (CNA) staffing coordinator at Schenectady Center. Pamela has built her career on a foundation of empathy, hard work, and a deep commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

For Pamela, nursing care isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. Following in the footsteps of her late mother, who was a beloved nurse in their Louisiana hometown, she has turned a passion for helping others into a lifelong pursuit. Her mother’s example instilled in her the values of dedication, kindness, and perseverance, and these qualities shine through in everything she does. Her mother’s legacy of care lives on through her, and her presence at Schenectady Center has become an integral part of the heart and soul of the facility.

Pamela’s journey at Centers Health Care began in 2019 when she joined Schenectady Center as a travel CNA, a role that allowed her to experience our various care settings, from dementia to dietary, over a period of two years. She showed a tireless commitment to patient care and a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, her resilience shined through. Before long, she became an integral part of the team and was promoted to her current role as staffing coordinator.

Pamela’s work goes beyond the administrative duties at the long-term care center. She actively mentors the staff, fostering a culture of learning, compassion, and excellence. Her open-door policy means that no team member is ever alone in facing challenges. She listens, guides, and inspires, whether it’s offering professional advice or a comforting word during tough times. Many of the staff see her as more than just a supervisor—they view her as a mentor and a friend.

Her influence is felt not just in the way she manages the nursing staff, but also in the personal connections she forms with residents and their families. With a genuine heart for service, she makes it her mission to ensure that every individual in her care feels seen, valued, and supported. Her ability to balance administrative duties with hands-on care is a testament to her dedication.

What truly sets Pamela apart is her belief that this work is her life’s purpose. Day in and day out, she brings a level of passion and energy to her role that is contagious. Her leadership has created a nurturing environment that feels like a second home to both residents and staff. In many ways, she has become the glue that holds our nursing staff together, and we are grateful for her continued dedication.

We are proud to call Pamela a member of our team and even prouder to know that her mother’s legacy of care continues to inspire the next generation of caregivers. For all she has given to us, we hope to honor her contributions by carrying forward the same spirit of care, compassion, and commitment she exemplifies every day.
