On February 1, 2023, the American Heart Association (AHA) in New York visited the offices of Centers Health Care on White Plains Road in the Bronx to discuss the many ways that both major organizations can combine their efforts to bring heart-healthy practices to people living in the Bronx.
According to the latest statistics, of all 62 counties in the state of New York, the Bronx sits in the 62nd, or last, place when it comes to heart health. Centers Health Care runs seven skilled nursing facilities in the Bronx, and one of its facilities, Beth Abraham Center, was recognized by the AHA and American Medical Association (AMA) in 2022 for its commitment to helping improve blood pressure (BP) control rates among the patient populations it serves, earning Gold + level recognition as part of the AHA 2022 Target: BPTM Recognition Program. Now in 2023, both organizations are fully committed to working together to bring heart health top-of-mind to all Bronx residents and their families.
