Lord’s Diner receives Centers Health Care Donation

Even with a south-central Kansas snowstorm on its way, it didn’t stop Centers Health Care and the Wichita Center to make a beautiful $2,500 donation to The Lord’s Diner in order to fight hunger and the impoverished right here in Wichita and throughout Kansas. The donation is part of a 2022 campaign that New York City-based Centers Health Care is doing to give back to the community and families that they serve. Based on North Broadway in Wichita, The Lord’s Dineris an organization geared to combat hunger in the community. Their singular mission is to serve a nutritious meal with dignity and respect to anyone who is hungry. They offer dine-in or carry-out food.

A donation like this comes from the heart,” said Stephanie Collums, Centers Health Care’s Kansas Regional Director. “Fighting hunger is so important and helping them goes without saying. The people of Wichita and Kansas are always first and foremost on our minds, so we thank The Lord’s Diner for being there for them.”

Centers Health Care is the largest family of nursing homes and rehabilitations in the Northeast and they have two in Kansas, the Wichita Center on East 21st Street North and on Wanamaker Road in Topeka. As local airports started calculating flight cancellations and delays, and local schools gearing up for their own delays and closures over the next twelve hours, this special donation to The Lord’s Diner combat hunger couldn’t wait.

From the bottom of our heart, we thank the people from Centers Health Care and the Wichita Center for this generous donation,” said Sarah Hoffman, Volunteer Coordinator with The Lord’s Diner. “Every dollar counts and the people here in our community need us to help them, so it’s all about them, their health and safety for their families and friends. We will always be there for them.
