Luxor at Sayville Recognizes Their Nursing Director During Nurses Week
Director of Nursing Jaclyn Donnolly, 12-Year Veteran of the 5-Star Sayville Facility is also Praised by Centers Health Care

Luxor at Sayville, the 180-bed skilled nursing facility on Broadway Avenue in Sayville is undoubtedly lucky to have Jaclyn Donnolly as their Director of Nursing. According to Chief Nursing Officer Heidi Hendrix and the facility’s Administrator Michael Scarione, Jaclyn is the pure and ultimate example of a nurse who started small and worked hard to make it big in the industry. This is why she has been recognized during National Nurses Week, May 6 – 12, 2024.
Ms. Donnolly began at the early age of 17 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while in high school when she went to BOCES. Later Jacyln went on in her senior year of high school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at 19. The year after she graduated high school is when she achieved a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certificate and worked at St. James Plaza as a Charge/Med Nurse from 2005 to 2009.
From there, Jaclyn was hired in 2009 as a Unit Coordinator at Good Samaritan University Hospital, part of the Catholic Health System in West Islip. While there, she achieved her Registered Nurse (RN) degree in 2012 and then relocated within the hospital to the Medical/Surgical Ventilator Unit. That same year, Jaclyn took her experience to both Cassena Care locations, at Sayville Nursing And Rehabilitation Center and Mills Pond Nursing And Rehabilitation Center. Later, both places became part of Luxor, and Jaclyn worked hard for years and was named Director of Nursing at Luxor at Sayville in 2019.
During her years as a highly respected nurse, Jaclyn achieved several distinctive awards, including “Nurse of the Year” by former New York State Senator Thomas Croci. Jaclyn Donnolly has been married to her husband, James, since 2009. Their daughter Kaelyn is currently nine years old, and the family resides in Stony Brook.
“I am so touched to be recognized at Luxor at Sayville and by Centers Health Care during Nurses Week this year,” said Donnelly. “When I became an RN in 2012, I felt proud because I’m all about challenging myself, even though when I worked the ventilator unit and MedSurg in the hospital, my heart was always in long-term care, so I steered right back to the nursing home. I love my residents and am very proud of my nursing staff here at Luxor.”
