Expanding Bronx Presence for Post-Acute Care

Centers Health Care, one of the largest and most complete post-acute health care continuums in the northeast, announced today that it has taken over the former Beth Abraham Health Services effective immediately and are renaming it Beth Abraham Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. With over a 90-year history, the facility joins more than 30 other skilled nursing and rehab facilities in the Centers Health Care family.

The 520-bed facility on Allerton Avenue in the Bronx will continue to provide long-term care and short-term rehabilitation, along with specialized care for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Like other facilities in the Centers Health Care family, Beth Abraham Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing will be offering many therapeutical and recreational activities designed to keep residents active throughout the course of the day.

\"Our company started right here in the Bronx and our commitment to this community has never wavered\" said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care. \"This is our sixth facility in the Bronx and enables us to expand our world class care and rehab service to hundreds more of our neighbors.\"

\"I’m excited to be here at Beth Abraham Center\", said Moshe Blackstein, administrator of the facility. \"We’ve been preparing for this for months and now that it’s finally happened, we can launch the exciting plans we have for Beth Abraham. We’re going to provide our residents with the finest care in the Bronx and what’s more, we are going to provide them with the kind of lifestyle they deserve, caring staff, a vibrant community and a comfortable, homey atmosphere. We are going to get settled in quickly and then start to finalize plans to make some renovations that will reflect our commitment to our residents and their good health.\"

Care. Support. Positive Outcomes. Centers Health Care.

Centers Health Care provides rehabilitation, skilled nursing and long-term care for people with a wide range of needs. Whether someone is recovering from surgery, managing an illness or simply needs more support than can be provided at home, our staff is there to help.

The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.

Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.

Our Steps to Home series follows patients through rehabilitation and the journey from hospital to home:
