Schenectady Center Has Been Named by U.S. News & World Report as One of the Best in Upstate NY in 2020

[Schenectady, NY/Bronx, NY] – Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, the massive 240-bed Centers Health Care facility on Altamonte Avenue in Schenectady, New York, has been selected by U.S. News & World Report as one of New York State’s best nursing homes for their 2019-2020 rankings. The Center, which is only one of seven throughout the Capital region, to qualify for this year’s rankings. “The U.S. News Best Nursing Home ratings hone in on measurements like emergency room visits, quality of staff and proper distribution of medical and physical therapy to help families make an informed decision,” said Kim Castro, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News. “These ratings help individuals and their families begin their search for senior care and should be used in consultation with a medical professional and in-depth on-site visits.” Since Centers Health Care took over the facility in September of 2017, Schenectady Center has made major strides with regards to the improvement of care, both short-term and long-term (as seen in a Daily Gazette article, January 2019). The Center was one of the six Capital Living facilities that seek best of care for its residents and Centers Health Care’s proven track record of turning floundering facilities into thriving establishments created a blueprint for the Altamonte Avenue facility. “This ranking proves time and time again that the Centers Health Care formula works,” said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care. “When someone enters Schenectady Center for the first time, they know that great things are happening in that facility. These rankings are a true testament of the hard-working staff, their relationship with our residents and families who need our help.”
