This past week was National Skilled Nursing Care Week and along with the 2024 theme being “Tribute to the Golden Age of Radio”, there was a very special dedication at Warren Center in Queensbury on May 17. Several Warren County’s elected officials and appointees came to the Gurney Lane skilled nursing facility to recognize 99-year-old resident and World War II veteran Mr. Richard Lee.
VIPs who came included Senator Dan Stec and Under Sheriff Terry Comeau, plus officers from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
With the outside grounds filled antique cars from the 1940s and 1950s, plus cosmic imagery from the 1938 War of the Worlds classic radio show, it was an all out dedication to that WWII generation. There was even a 1955 classic Bel Air that Senator Stec had the privilege to ride in with 99-year-old Mr. Lee. WNYT NewsChannel 13
