Decade-themed Party at Corning Center
This week being National Nursing Home Week, Corning Center in Corning, New York, did a decades-theme this week as the staff entertained their residents with dressing up for every decade from the 1960s to the present. At the 120-bed skilled nursing facility on East First Street, the building was flooded with tie-dye shirts, Madonna look-alikes, leggings and all kinds of bright colors. Recreation Director Shannon Robertson says that this theme appeals to everyone, “it’s a blast revisiting the past decades and being able to relive our youth by getting away with wearing familiar clothing from our younger years.” National Nursing Home is all this week, May 15 through the 20th.
