Deptford Center hosts a casino-themed St. Patrick’s Day celebration

St. Patrick’s Day at Deptford Center in Deptford, New Jersey, turned into a full-blown casino night as residents tried their luck of the Irish to play the slots, blackjack, and roulette, all at the 240-bed skilled nursing facility on Clements Bridge Road in Deptford. After two years without real St. Patrick’s Day fun due to COVID-19, Activities Director Paige Doumenis had the wonderful idea of having a casino night and arranged for everything. The residents were so happy. Of course, this Atlantic City West event did not include any alcohol or the exchange of real money, but who needs that when the residents had an incredible time? That wasn’t all; including the dice games, residents and staff made Irish potatoes as well! On left, as Nursing Assistant Lori Voynow shows off her St. Patrick’s Day outfit, residents are deep into casino fun.
