During National Nursing Home Week, Essex Center in Elizabethtown, NY celebrated the week of May 29 by offering many different kinds of foods along with each day being a designated fun day. Both the residents and staff enjoyed each day’s food order and it took many of the Essex Center staff to help pitch in so to make the week such a success. From “Crazy Sock Day” on pizza day, to “Mix-Match Day” on OLE taco day, there were also sandwiches, sundaes, and cheesecakes on special days. At the end of the week, everyone received a brand-new Centers Health Care umbrella. “We look forward to this week every year and each year, the staff gets more and more excited,” said the facility’s Recreation Director Beth McLaughlin.
