Cinco De Mayo Celebration at Northern Riverview
Cinco de Mayo 2023 at Northern Riverview Healthcare Center in Haverstraw, according to Administrator Zevi Lipschitz, was one of the most joyful celebrations so far this year. Mexican salsa music played throughout the facility and no matter where the Recreation team showed up in the building, Director Lori Silverstein was there singing, air playing her acoustic guitar, and dancing with the residents and staff to Richie Valens’ "La Bamba". All in all, May 5th was a packed day and all geared towards Cinco de Mayo at the 180-bed skilled facility.
The day began with a Cinco de Mayo word search and then after lunch, the team continued the festivities by celebrating with music and dancing on each floor. Each resident was given tortilla chips and ginger ale and finally, their Friday Movie Day capped off everything with two Mexican-themed movies!
