Roxy, the Beloved Pet Therapy Dog, Brings Cheer to Seniors at Ontario Center

Pet therapy comes in all shapes, sizes, and….animals. On October 6, Roxy visited the residents at the 98-bed skilled nursing facility, Ontario Center on County Complex Drive in Canandaigua. Recreation Assistant Diane Rodriguez, who also has brought in her other dog, D.O.G. (pronounced as “diogee”) brought in Roxy to give love and bring cheer to the residents. Pet therapy has been well-known to enhance both physical and psychological wellness for everyone, not just seniors. Here, 80-year-old resident Barbara Sutton, originally from Clyde, New York, just loves Roxy.
