Caroline Welles: Employee of the Month

May is National Better Speech and Hearing Month and with nearly 50 skilled nursing facilities in their bandwidth throughout the northeast and Midwest, Centers Health Care and Sigma Rehab Health are selecting a speech therapist each week in May as their Speech Therapist of the Month. The second week is going to Warren Center Speech Language Pathologist Caroline Welles in Queensbury, New York.

Caroline has been at the 80-bed skilled nursing facility for three years and she is highly well-loved by her residents and fellow rehab staffers. She attended the College of Saint Rose and she looks forward to seeing a resident who works hard in their dysphagia therapy finally have their feeding tube removed and begin eating again. Caroline also feels that advocating for the residents is extremely important where working with residents with cognitive and communication disorders is so key that their needs, wants and wishes are being brought to the forefront.
