Summer Celebrations at Rochester Center
The Recreation team at Rochester Center on Beahan Road in Rochester got the summer of 2023 got off to a great start beginning in mid-June as residents and staff celebrated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week where the Hawaiian Tiki Luau theme took place with Pina Coladas, fresh tropical fruit, Tiki Pong, flamingo toss, Connect-4 tournaments, tie-dye parties, and karaoke. Towards the end of June, residents then enjoyed celebrating the June birthdays when they brought in the Baking Club and they all made chocolate chip and wild berry mini muffins. Finally, it was all about those tasty cold milkshakes and watching the always fun 1978 movie, "Grease" with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

The goal is not exactly the same for everyone. It may be returning home, becoming stronger, staying independent or simply feeling better and more comfortable from one day to the next. There will be progress, setbacks and difficult days along the way. Our job is to be there through all of it, and to help each patient or resident get as far as he or she can.
Sometimes that progress comes in large steps. More often, it comes in small ones. Either way, every step matters.
