Therapy Dog Day at Slate Valley
April 11, 2023, was Therapy Dog Appreciation Day, and at Slate Valley Center in Granville, New York, the Recreation Department, headed by Director Andrea Kelley, had three gorgeous pooches visit with both the residents and staff. There was the cute, lovable, high-energy puppy, Rosie, the Corgi, who is owned by B-Wing Unit Supervisor Anne Nilsen. Kelley brought in Keelo, the one-year-old Old English Bulldog. Keelo is no stranger to the 88-bed skilled nursing facility, as that dog works part-time, comes in two to three days a week, and knows the residents well. Finally, Slate Valley full-timer Malibu, a five-month-old yellow lab owned by the Director of Nursing Tamme Taran, Malibu is very playful and loves opportunities.
