Clifton Rehabilitation Center Residents Horse Around with a Special Friend

Residents at a Clifton healthcare facility are feeling good after a special visit from a four-legged friend.

Dunkin’ the miniature horse stopped by the Richmond Center for Rehabilitation to meet with residents Tuesday. The therapy pet made his rounds throughout the facility, lifting spirits and making himself available for petting sessions. Residents say the visit was just what the doctor ordered.

“I never received nothing like this before and he’s so cute and cuddly when I hold him,” said one patient.

“It makes me think about being back home with my family and stuff,” said another patient.

“It really gives them a lot of comfort, a lot of warmth and it actually gets them very excited. They look forward so much to the horses coming,” said Philip Buchsbaum who is an Administrator at Richmond Center for Rehabilitation.

The facility started the mini-horse program in December. Administrators tell us they hope to bring them-in at least once a month.
