Four Healthy Habits For Seniors to Add To Their Daily Routine

Living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to be hard to achieve and isn’t as difficult as it might seem. By adding a few things to your regular day, you can start living healthier.

Here are four healthy habits that Centers believes everyone should add to their daily routine:

Drink Lots of Water: Drink at least 64 ounces or 8 oz cups of water daily. And drinking an ice-cold cup of water first thing in the morning is good for our metabolism. Also, drinking a glass of water 30 minutes before every meal will make us feel fuller. By ending the day with a glass of water, we help flush out toxins and help our body recover from the day.

Eat More Greens: Integrating greens from superfoods into your daily diet can help with healthy eating. Leafy greens are heart-healthy and loaded with folate, telomeres, and antioxidants, which are all good for us. These substances combat toxins, help process hormones, and protect our hearts.

Stretch Before Bed: Stretching before bed is a good way to help our bodies decompress from the day. It also increases blood flow and can help us fall asleep faster. Releasing muscle tension is good for our bodies.

Wear Sunscreen Every Day: Even if it’s cloudy, wear sunscreen. Preventing sun damage is vital for our skin, and sunscreen is one of the only things that can help prevent a type of cancer. Whether it’s the sunniest day or the cloudiest day, make sure to apply sunscreen.
